Why Fall Is the Best Time to Start Laser Hair Removal in Calgary
If you've been thinking about laser hair removal, here's the thing most people don't realize until it's too late: the best time to start is right now, in the fall.
Most of us start thinking about smooth, hair-free skin in May, when shorts and swimsuits come back out. But laser hair removal takes a series of sessions spread out over several months. Starting in the fall means you can finish your treatment plan before summer, instead of starting it then.
Why fall is the best time for laser hair removal
There are two big reasons we recommend starting laser hair removal in the fall and winter months.
Less sun exposure. Laser hair removal works best on skin that isn't tanned. Calgary summers bring a lot of time outdoors, and fresh sun exposure means pausing or adjusting treatments. In the fall and winter, your skin is naturally less exposed, which makes it the ideal window to treat consistently.
Time to complete your series. Hair grows in cycles, and the laser can only target follicles that are in their active growth phase. That's why most people need 6 to 8 sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. Start in October and you'll be well into your series, or finished, by the time summer arrives.
How Diolaze laser hair removal works
At BioRevive, we use Diolaze™, an advanced diode laser hair removal technology. It delivers targeted energy to the hair follicle at the root to reduce regrowth over time, while a built-in cooling system protects your skin and keeps treatments comfortable.
A few things our clients appreciate:
Comfort. Most people describe the sensation as a quick, light snap or gentle warmth. The integrated cooling makes a noticeable difference.
Speed. The large treatment area and fast pulse rate mean even larger areas like legs or back can be treated efficiently.
A wide range of skin tones. Diolaze can be used on a wide range of skin tones and hair types. Your consultation will confirm what results you can expect.
Minimal downtime. Some redness or warmth right after treatment is normal and usually settles within a few hours. Most people go right back to their day.
Who can benefit from laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is a great option if you're dealing with:
Unwanted hair on the face or body
Ingrown hairs
Razor bumps or irritation from shaving
The time and cost of constant waxing
A desire for long-term hair reduction
Common treatment areas include the upper lip, chin, jawline, underarms, bikini, Brazilian, arms, legs, chest, back and shoulders. It's a popular treatment for both women and men.
If you've noticed a sudden change in hair growth, it can sometimes be linked to hormonal shifts. In that case, it's worth mentioning during your consultation so we can talk through whether a conversation with a healthcare provider makes sense alongside your treatments. Laser hair removal packages: save when you commit to your series
Because results come from completing a full series, we offer 6-session packages for every treatment area, from small areas like the upper lip and chin to larger areas like full legs or back. Packages cost less than booking single sessions, and payment plans are available.
You can find current pricing for every treatment area on our aesthetic price list.
Laser hair removal is included in our memberships
If laser hair removal is one of several treatments you love, an aesthetic membership may be an even better fit. Laser hair removal is included as a monthly treatment option in every tier:
Bronze: Laser hair removal for a small area, alongside options like an AlumierMD® peel or Deluxe HydraFacial®.
Silver: Laser hair removal for a small or medium area, plus DP4 Microneedling™, Lumecca™ IPL and more. Unused monthly treatments roll over.
Gold: Laser hair removal for a small, medium or large area, plus Morpheus8™ and additional upgrade options. Unused monthly treatments roll over.
Since laser hair removal sessions are typically spaced about a month apart, a membership lines up naturally with your treatment schedule. Every membership also includes an aesthetic consultation, Aura™ Skin Analysis, Seca body composition scans, bonus red light therapy and member discounts on products and treatments. See current pricing and full details on our memberships page.
How to prepare for your first session
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least 3 weeks before treatment.
Shave the area 24 to 48 hours before your appointment.
Skip waxing, plucking or threading between sessions, since the follicle needs to be intact for the laser to work.
Let us know about any new medications or skin changes before each session.
