Morpheus8 is one of the treatments we get asked about most, and for good reason. It combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to remodel collagen deep in the skin, so it can tighten, smooth and refine skin on both the face and body.

But before booking, most people have the same handful of questions. Does it hurt? How long will I look red? When will I actually see a difference? Here are the honest answers.

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 is a radiofrequency microneedling treatment. Tiny needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin while radiofrequency energy heats the deeper layers. Together, they signal your skin to build new collagen and elastin.

It's commonly used for:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Loose or sagging skin along the jawline, cheeks and neck

  • Acne scars and other scars

  • Stretch marks

  • Uneven texture and tone

Treatment depth is customized, so we can treat delicate areas like under the eyes as well as larger areas like the abdomen, arms and thighs.

Does Morpheus8 hurt?

We'll be honest: it feels hot and poky. That's the radiofrequency and the microneedles doing their job.

To make it as comfortable as possible, we apply a strong numbing cream before your treatment. Most people find it very manageable, and knowing what to expect ahead of time helps a lot.

How much downtime is there?

For most people, your skin will look like you've had a good workout or a mild sunburn for a few days. Expect some redness and warmth, and possibly a bit of swelling or light flaking, especially after deeper or full-face treatments.

We recommend skipping makeup for 48 to 72 hours so your skin can recover.

Many people plan their treatment before a quieter few days, like a weekend, so they can lie low while the redness settles.

The most important aftercare rule: avoid heat

If you remember one thing from this post, make it this: keep your skin cool while it heals.

For the first few days after your treatment:

  • No hot showers. Keep showers warm, not hot.

  • Use lukewarm water when you wash your face.

  • Skip workouts or anything else that raises your body temperature, like hot yoga, saunas and hot tubs.

This matters more than anything else in your aftercare. The only time we've seen an adverse reaction is when someone exposed their skin to heat too soon. It usually shows up as a rash, and it can take up to a couple of weeks to settle, so it's worth taking it easy for a few days.

You'll also go home with a post-treatment kit with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen to support your skin while it heals.

When will I see results?

Most people start to see results about 4 to 6 weeks after a treatment. That's how long it takes your body to build new collagen.

And it doesn't stop there. Collagen keeps building over the following months, so results continue to improve over time.

How many sessions will I need?

For first-timers, we usually recommend a series of three treatments, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart. A series is available as a package.

After that, one treatment a year is a great way to maintain your results. Morpheus8 is also included in some of our memberships, which can be an easy way to keep up with maintenance.

When is the best time to start?

Fall and winter are ideal. You'll want to avoid treatment if you have an active tan, and less sun exposure makes it easier to protect your skin while it heals. Start a series now and you'll be finishing up well before spring.
