WHAT ARE MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS?

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DP4™ AND MORPHEUS8™?

We offer two levels of microneedling at BioRevive in Calgary:

- DP4™ Microneedling : A collagen induction treatment that targets surface texture and tone with quick recovery.

- Morpheus8™ RF Microneedling:   Combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to remodel deeper layers of the skin, tighten, and lift.

IS THE BEAUTY BOOSTER™ CONSIDERED MICRONEEDLING?

The Beauty Booster™ uses fine needles, but it’s technically a micro-infusion treatment rather than traditional microneedling. Instead of creating micro-injuries for collagen stimulation, it infuses a customized blend of hyaluronic acid and skin boosters to deeply hydrate and enhance skin radiance. It’s an excellent complement to microneedling treatments at BioRevive in Calgary.

WHAT DO MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Before your microneedling treatment at BioRevive Calgary, a topical numbing cream is applied for comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as light pressure or a mild prickling feeling.

HOW MANY MICRONEEDLING SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Visible improvement often begins after one session, but a series of 3–6 treatments, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart, provides the best long-term results.

Morpheus8™ typically requires fewer sessions (3 in your initial series and 1 annually for maintenance) due to its deeper collagen remodeling effect.

HOW MUCH DOWN TIME IS THERE AFTER A MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?

Downtime varies depending on the specific device used. 

DP4™ Microneedling can result in mild redness and sensitivity for 1–2 days. Most patients can resume normal activities quickly — and makeup is usually fine after 24 hours.

However, Morpheus8™ involves radiofrequency microneedling, which can cause redness, mild swelling, or flaking for up to 3–7 days. Makeup should be avoided for the first 48 hours to allow the skin to heal properly.

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?

You’ll start to notice smoother, more radiant skin within a few weeks. Collagen continues to build for up to 3–6 months after your microneedling treatment. 

To help you track your skin’s progress, we perform a baseline Aura Skin Analysis Scan before your first treatment and a follow-up Aura Scan after your series. This allows you to see measurable improvements in skin texture, tone, and hydration over time.

CAN MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
